Squirrels can cause significant damage to buildings while building their nests. They may chew through siding, soffits, fascia, and eaves, turning your home into theirs. Raccoons are always searching for food. An unsecured trash can lid, pet food left outside, or gardens can easily attract them to your home or yard.  
They often make their homes in attics or chimneys. If they nest in your chimney, it can become clogged. The best way to prevent this is by installing a custom chimney cap.  
Never light a fire to remove nesting raccoons—if the chimney is blocked, smoke will flow back into your house.  
To get into an attic, raccoons may remove shingles, chew holes in fascia boards, or damage vents.
